Braemar Raku Bowl Kevin Wright is one of the potters at Braemar Pottery and primarily works with the raku method. Braemar Pottery of Qualicum Beach B.C., Canada This piece is signed by the potter on the foot of the bowl. Raku uses low fire clay, and metallic oxides and glazes. Generally, the pots are placed in a gas fired kiln, and when the glazes are "red hot", the pot is removed from the kiln and placed in a container with straw, or other combustible materials, and left to cool down, then thrown into a water basin to "freeze" the glaze and retain the colour. A tricky technique indeed! (10 x 10" x 2") Condition: vintage excellent condition Measurements: 10 x 10" x 2"

Set of three Italian majolica earthenware plates, each hand-painted with colorful baroque and floral designs, approximately 7.5 inches in diameter and 0.5 inches deep. Used decorative pieces with some minor chipping.

Italian majolica hand-painted plate featuring multi-color baroque and floral design

Top view of the three decorated Italian majolica plates arranged in a triangular layout showing hand painted colorful motifs and decorative borders.

Close-up image of one plate showing detailed hand-painted design including yellow central medallion, colorful scrolls and floral patterns with minor edge chips visible.

Three ceramic plates featuring a tin-glazed white base with overglaze hand-painted designs in vibrant colors including yellow, green, blue, red, and brown. Each plate has intricate baroque style motifs, including scrolls, leaves, and floral patterns with a central medallion featuring decorative symbols. Plates have a circular shape with blue and yellow decorative borders. Visible kiln stilt marks on bottoms. Some minor chips on edges consistent with mixed condition and decorative use.

Three Italian Hand-Painted Majolica Plates

Three Italian majolica plates Each plate is hand painted, and stacked in the kiln, note "stilt support" marks on the bottom of each plate. Majolica is an earthen ware clay that has a tin based glaze applied creating the white base for the overgrazes to be applied. While these are 'modern" pieces, I would suggest the use is decorative only, as the finishing glaze may contain lead. There is some minor chipping, note photos (.5" x7.5" x.75") Condition: mixed condition Measurements: .5" x7.5" x.75"
