Lot #102: Large 44.5" x 55.5" Ornate Gilt & Silver-Tone Custom Framed Statement Wall Mirror Somerset

Presenting a highly impressive, heavy-set statement wall mirror measuring an expansive 44.5 x 55.5 inches. This grand piece features a multi-tiered, deeply carved wooden frame that displays exceptional depth and texture. The design is anchored by an ornate outer border finished in a rich gold gilt, contrasting beautifully with a champagne/silver-toned inner liner profile that draws the eye directly toward the expansive mirror glass. Crafted with premium weight and substance, this substantial mirror is an ideal decorative focal point for upscale residential interiors, over-mantel installations, or formal entryways. The reverse is professionally finished with heavy-duty backing and retains the original custom workshop production label from Somerset Studios (Style No. 5171). • Grand Scale & Architecture: At nearly 4 feet by 5 feet, its structural presence commands a room, reflecting light beautifully and giving the illusion of expanded space. • Premium Custom Craftsmanship: Bearing the Somerset Studios Custom Framing manufacturing pedigree, this frame features multi-level, high-relief molding rather than thin, modern composite alternatives. • Versatile Mixed-Metal Aesthetic: The intentional blend of classic gold gilt with modern silver-champagne mid-tones allows it to blend seamlessly into both traditional Rococo/Baroque environments and contemporary transitional spaces. • The Original Company: Somerset Studios operated for decades as a premier trade supplier out of Morganton, North Carolina. They built a solid reputation in the interior design community for producing heavy, high-relief wooden frames and hand-applied metallic finishes (such as gold gilt and specialty lacquered glazes). • The 2016 Acquisition: In March 2016, Somerset Studios was purchased by Picture Source, an art and framing company founded in Seattle in 1975. • The Modern Brand: The two entities combined forces to form Picture Source Somerset (PSS). Following the acquisition, Picture Source moved its primary manufacturing, expert framing crews, and design departments into Somerset's massive 38,000-square-foot facility in North Carolina to capitalize on Somerset’s specialized hand-painting and custom-finish departments.
