Lot #142: Antique Hamilton & Diesinger Sterling Silver & Jet Beaded Purse

Victorian/Art Nouveau evening bag featuring a heavily embossed sterling silver repousse frame by Philadelphia silversmiths Hamilton & Diesinger (active 1881–1900). The frame is clearly stamped "Sterling" with the maker's hallmark and depicts a detailed cherub amidst ornate floral scrolls, with a hand-engraved monogram on the reverse. The body consists of intricate, tightly woven black jet micro-beading in a geometric diamond pattern, finished with a delicate beaded bottom fringe and an attached curb-link chain handle. Showing minor age-appropriate tarnish to the silver, the textile and beadwork remain exceptionally well-preserved. Pickup category timeslot {A}
