Hermes Rocket, a legendary ultra-portable vintage typewriter originally designed by the Swiss precision manufacturer Paillard. Known for its exceptionally lightweight build, reliable engineering, and compact form factor, it remains highly prized among typewriter enthusiasts and collectors.
Historical Impact
Introduced originally in the 1935 as the Baby/Featherweight line, this mechanical footprint went on to sell over 4.5 million units over a half-century production run. Because of its unmatched ruggedness and travel-friendly footprint, it became the weapon of choice for mid-century journalists, war correspondents, and iconic authors—including Ernest Hemingway, John Steinbeck, and Jack Kerouac (who typed portions of On the Road on one).
