Lot #14: Vintage 1978–1982 Canadian Thermos Products Ltd. Hardshell Lunch Box Kit

This rare find from Canadian Thermos Products Ltd. is a beautifully preserved time capsule from the late 1970s to early 1980s transition era (circa 1978–1982), manufactured directly at the historic factory in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. Coming straight out of original factory storage, this unissued school lunch box has never been used and remains in near-mint condition, retaining its high-gloss factory sheen and flawlessly clean interior. It represents a highly sought-after design window, showcasing the classic metal wire bracket handle assembly and rugged front metal locking latch right before the industry transitioned entirely to cheaper, all-plastic hardware. The set comes completely intact with its matching inner "Roughneck" Thermos flask—featuring the iconic "Incassable" shatterproof child-safe lining, white stopper, and cup lid—alongside its original bilingual retail paper hang-tag with vibrant retro skateboard graphics. For absolute collector transparency, please note that decades of factory crate storage left a minor cosmetic flaw consisting of a tiny broken plastic piece on the back hinge area behind the tag; however, this does not affect the tight front latch closure or the smooth opening mechanism, making it an exceptionally rare, highly conserved Canadian piece for any vintage showcase.
