Lot #108: Rare 1969 Blind Faith UK Import Gatefold LP Record Banned Cover Clapton

Original UK gatefold import of the banned highly controversial artwork for the self-titled debut album by the 1969 blues-rock supergroup Blind Faith. The band consisted of iconic musicians Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Ginger Baker, and Ric Grech. Photographer Bob Seidemann created the image. He conceptualized it as a symbol of human achievement, juxtaposing a young girl (representing innocence) holding a futuristic, gleaming chrome spaceship model (representing technological advancement). Because the image depicted a top-less young girl, it caused widespread controversy upon its release in 1969. This is a true 1969 UK first pressing of the album. The visual layout of the center label confirms this exact edition. It features the textured red Polydor label with a distinct outer ridge, the text "MADE IN ENGLAND" on the left side, the "MCPS" rights society text enclosed inside a white box, and the 583059 A catalog number on the right. Album is in EX+ condition, sleeve has spine wear. Pickup category timeslot {A}
