Lot #5: Vintage Persian Baluchi Pictorial Rug Indigo Navy Blue Zoomorphic Camel Animal Motif

Hand-knotted Vintage Persian Baluchi pictorial rug. Woven by Baluch tribal artisans, this rare collectible piece steps away from purely geometric patterns to feature an exceptional zoomorphic design, heavily populated by beautifully stylized geometric animal silhouettes including camels, birds, and horses. The composition is rendered in a classic, low-contrast Baluch palette of midnight indigo navy, charcoal black, and warm camel tan. Hand-woven with soft, lustrous hand-spun wool on a traditional wool foundation, this rug has the highly flexible, supple handle that collectors prize. It is perfect for bringing a storied, conversation-starting layer of cozy bohemian character and historic folk artistry to an entryway, library, study, or bedside wall hanging. • Design & Pattern: This is a highly sought-after pictorial zoomorphic layout. The central field features striking geometric stylized animal silhouettes—including recognizable forms resembling camels, horses, and birds—integrated into an all-over repeating tribal lattice. • Color Palette: Displays the signature moody, low-contrast Baluch color combination dominated by deep midnight navy blue, charcoal black, dark walnut brown, and warm camel/tan highlights. • Weaving Style: Hand-knotted with a soft, supple wool pile on a dark wool foundation, giving the rug a very flexible handle characteristic of true nomadic pieces. • Condition: great condition, recently cleaned by Persian rug cleaning company.
