Lot #34: Vintage 1954 Winter Forest Landscape Original Oil Painting – Signed Peter Grant

This is an exceptionally beautiful, authentic mid-century original oil painting depicting a crisp, serene winter wonderland landscape. Painted on textured canvas board, the artwork details a cluster of striking white birch trees and deep green evergreens rising from rolling, snow-covered banks. A clear, reflective stream winds its way through the snowy foreground, while warm, autumnal-colored foliage sits nestled against far-off mountains beneath a soft, glowing sky. The painting showcases wonderful texture, confidence in brushwork, and an atmospheric use of color characteristic of fine 1950s Canadian or American regional landscape art. The bottom right corner is clearly hand-signed and dated in red oil paint by the artist: "PETER GRANT /54". It is housed in its original mid-century stylized wooden frame with a striated off-white finish. • Type: Original Oil Painting on Canvas Board • Subject: Winter Landscape / Forest Stream & Birch Trees • Artist: Peter Grant (Hand-Signed) • Date Created: 1954 • Framed Style: Mid-Century Modern Wood Gallery Frame.
