Lot #38: Vintage Mid-Century African Man Profile Portrait – Original Mixed Media Painting

authentic vintage mid-century original portrait painting. Executed in a dynamic mixed media blend of watercolor, gouache, and charcoal line work on heavy artist paper, the artwork presents a majestic profile portrait of an African man. The subject is beautifully detailed with rich, deep skin tones, looking off toward the left. He wears an ornate, patterned traditional yellow and orange crown-like headpiece paired with a vibrant green, orange, and yellow patterned ceremonial dashiki garment. The artist handles the background with fluid, sweeping watercolor washes in soft blues, grays, and warm ambers, giving the composition an atmospheric, modern feel. The piece features a faint, stylized script signature in pencil along the bottom edge toward the right. It comes housed in a stark mid-century dark mahogany-finished wood gallery frame. • Type: Original Mixed Media Painting (Watercolor, Gouache, and Charcoal/Graphite) • Subject: African Ethno-Cultural Profile Portrait • Era: Vintage Mid-Century (c. 1960s–1970s) Good condition Dimensions: 11x15 Pickup category timeslot {A}
