Lot #1: 875 Silver Bossard Vase / Beaker

This beaker is marked Bossard, signifying Bossard Luzern, one of Switzerland's most renowned goldsmith's workshops of the 19th century. Other works by Bossard can be found in The Swiss National Museum. This piece stands 8.5" tall, 4.75" across the top, and 3.5" across the base. It holds at least 600 mL of fluid. It is hand crafted from 87.5% pure silver in Lucerne, Switzerland. It weighs 473 g, or 16.70 oz. It has a peening (hammered) textured finish, with decorative banding near its base, creating a rest when holding it. The design lends itself well to several time periods and stylistic influences. There are some small inflections in spots that may buff out; because this piece is so reflective, it was hard to capture them on camera. Signed "Bossard" .875 and includes other marks on bottom, as shown in pictures, including the family crest mark of Bossard. Lot 1 - 19: Silver Items Lot 20 - 47: Figurines, Sculptures, Carvings, Etc.
