A Box of Jewellery

Although this little antique dresser is empty, it is still full of charm. It is a totally hand made antique replica made to scale. There are beautiful inlaid hearts which suggest the Arts and Crafts Movement. Believed to be a craftsman / salesman sample to showcase the carpenter's expertise, however this would definitely make a wonderful dresser for a doll's clothes. It is in very good antique condition with a gently used finish. The drawers are dove-tail jointed at the front and back. The few nails that are used in the construction appear to be irregular in size and shape, and are possibly also hand made. The dresser measures approx. 12" tall on 1/2" turned feet, one of which has an inflection, as shown in photos. The knobs all match, but are also unique with slight differences between them. The total measurements are 11" wide, 7" deep, and 12.5" tall.

The outside of the frames measure approx. 14" by 19.5". These pictures were most likely to have adorned and graced the walls of a school, lodge, library, or other institution. We estimate production around 1967, the Canadian centennial year. It's a complete set of its time. Quality printing; we are uncertain whether they are offset, litho, or silkscreen printed. There are some with slight spots and wear, however all show up very well, and look very good for their age. The would be great enjoyed in a pub, restaurant, legion, classroom, clubhouse, etc.
