Lot #197: Antique Armand Marseille Mold 500 "Character Boy" Doll – Germany, c. 1910

Up for auction is a fascinating and highly collectible antique character boy doll manufactured by the renowned firm Armand Marseille in Germany, dating to the early 20th century (circa 1900–1912). This doll features the rare and desirable Mold 500 character face, prized by collectors for its realistic, expressive features rather than the standard "dolly" look of the era. The bisque socket head features beautiful molded and painted hair, delicate multi-stroke eyebrows, a closed mouth, and detailed, expressive painted eyes. The back of the head is clearly impressed with the authentic makers' stamps: "500 / DRGM / A.O.M." (denoting the mold number, the German empire design registration, and the Armand Marseille Koppelsdorf mark). Pickup category timeslot {A}
